Manchester United player ratings as Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho excel vs Everton

Manchester United beat Everton 2-0 at Old Trafford in their penultimate Premier League game of the month.

First-half penalties from Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford were enough to record only United's sixth win by a margin of at least two goals this season.

Everton showed impressive intent but were unimpressive with their finishing and are now winless in their last 11 league games.

United are now three points behind fifth-placed Tottenham, who travel to fourth-placed Aston Villa on Sunday.

Erik ten Hag named an unchanged side from the Manchester derby and here are how the United players rated:

Andre Onana

Handled with care when called upon but had few saves to make amid Everton's profligacy and tepid attacking. 7

Diogo Dalot

Not as creative in the final third as he can be and squandered some presentable passing opportunities. Not tested in defence. 6

Raphael Varane

A calm performance, although he was pitted against the impotent Beto for an hour until Dominic Calvert-Lewin came on. 7

Jonny Evans

Another impressive performance from the evergreen Ulsterman, whose distribution was as impressive as his defending. 8

Victor Lindelof

Started sloppily but Everton never exploited him and he even had a shot at goal towards the end of the first half. 6

Casemiro

So careless he had his hands on his hips during one stoppage, possibly in disgust at his own performance. Will need to raise his level next week. 5

Kobbie Mainoo

Another tepid performance on home turf though United's front three were creative enough there was little burden on Mainoo. 6

Alejandro Garnacho
