Andre Onana horror show has Rangers fans all saying same thing as Man Utd told '£20m for Jack Butland and we'll talk'

As Manchester United keeper David Onana recovers from yet another nightmare, fans have been quick to point out that a shot-stopper who was allowed to leave Old Trafford for the blundering Cameroonian - Rangers No. 1 Jack Butland.

While Butland has earned rave reviews following his displays for the Light Blues both domestically and in Europe, some supporters have taken to social media to suggest that Erik ten Hag could have done a lot worse than try to hold onto the 30-year-old who spent the second half of last season on loan at his boyhood heroes from Crystal Palace.

Butland was on the bench 20 times, including in the FA Cup final, but failed to make an appearance before returning to Selhurst Park where his contract had expired. He then penned a four-year deal at Rangers on a free transfer and given Onana’s disastrous start - after splashing out almost £50 MILLION to sign him for Inter Milan - to life at Manchester United it has led to questions over Butland.

Onana blundered twice as United twice blew a two-goal lead to be held to a thrilling 3-3 Champions League draw against Galatasaray in Istanbul. The 27-year-old, who played in the Champions League final last season and worked under ten Hag at Ajax, has conceded more goals than any other goalkeeper in UEFA’s premier competition.

And the fact they allowed Butland to leave to make way for him hasn't been lost on many supporters and Rangers fans are relieved Michael Beale managed to sign him in the summer as they took to X.
