Amanda Holden tipped to replace Cat Deeley on This Morning as viewers 'switch off'
Amanda Holden is being tipped to take over from Cat Deeley on 'This Morning' amid claims that viewers "haven't taken" to the current presenter.
It has been claimed in Woman's Own magazine that fans of 'This Morning' "haven't taken" to Cat Deeley since she began presenting in March this year.
In September, it emerged that viewing figures for the ITV show had fallen below 700,000 for one episode. Cat Deeley, who presents with Ben Shephard, commented that she hadn't "really thought about" the ratings.
Amanda Holden, known for her role as a judge on 'Britain's Got Talent', is familiar with the 'This Morning' set, having filled in for Holly during her maternity leave and featuring on the show from 2014 to 2019.
The pair stepped in for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, who departed the programme in 2023 after Schofield was caught up in a controversy he described as an "unwise but not illegal" affair with a male crew member.
Since Cat and Ben took the helm, they have faced their share of criticism. In an interview with the Sunday Times, Cat remarked: "Ben will make a joke and it will be, like, 'He snapped at her!'".
ITV reportedly brought in Cat as part of a strategy to "steady the ship". Following rumours of a ratings slump in May, ITV defended the show, stating that 'This Morning' "has never had a better connection with viewers".
Amanda Holden and Phillip Schofield reportedly had a bit of a tiff, with Phillip telling Heat magazine that Amanda keeps him on his "toes" and possesses a "faulty edit button", which he finds "endearing" yet "occasionally quite scary".
When Holly Willoughby took off to host 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!', Amanda was in line to fill her shoes on 'This Morning', as per the Mirror. But
