Amad gives three-word response to Manchester United transfer rumours

Amad Diallo has moved to deny suggestions he could be leaving Manchester United during the January transfer window.

Amad recently made his first United appearance of the season, deployed as a substitute during the 2-1 defeat at Nottingham Forest on December 30, and is out to prove a point after a hugely successful loan spell at Sunderland last season.

The Ivorian winger scored a total of 14 goals and provided four assists as the Black Cats reached the Championship play-offs, losing to Luton Town in their two-legged semi-final.

Recent reports have suggested Sunderland are keen to bring Amad back to the Stadium of Light, with Leicester City and Birmingham City also believed to be interested in a loan deal for the 21-year-old. A move to the latter would see Amad reunited with manager Tony Mowbray, who was in charge of Sunderland during his loan spell and has today been appointed the new boss of the Blues.

Ex-Premier League midfielder Carlton Palmer recently tipped Birmingham to hijack a deal for Amad due to Mowbray, telling Football League World: "He really enjoyed his time at Sunderland but he was working under Tony Mowbray, and he made it clear that he would go back to work for Tony Mowbray. This could put a spanner in the works because although Sunderland are keen to sign him, if Tony Mowbray gets the Birmingham job then I’m sure Amad will be keen to join him there."

These quotes were subsequently shared on social media by a United fan account on X (formerly known as Twitter) and seen by Amad himself, who remarked: "Stop lying mate.!"
