Ally McCoist refuses Rangers 'easy draw' bait from West Ham fan after Dinamo Tbilisi comparison

Rangers legend Ally McCoist resisted the on-air bait from a West Ham supporting colleague that remarked Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men would be an 'easy draw'.

TalkSport's Ian Abrahams, also known as the Moose, is the man with his ear to the ground in East London.

And he was one happy Hammer after Andryi Yarmolenko's heroic extra-time winner over Sevilla allowed David Moyes' side to join the Gers in the quarter-finals.

He said: "It's their first European quarter-final since Dinamo Tbilisi in 1981 so a real opportunity.

"A man you probably played against Ally, Aleksandr Chivadze, he scored a couple of goals that night.

"I don't know if there is a team as good as Dinamo Tbilisi left in the Europa League.

"There are some difficult teams left in the Europa League like, for example, Barcelona, Atalanta, Eintracht Frankfurt.

"Then there are the easier draws like Braga and Rangers."

An incredulous McCoist interrupted, but didn't allow himself to get reeled in.

"Moose!" he cried. "There's a blatant refusal up here in Cheltenham for me to take the bait, mate.

"I'm just so pleased for you, I'm not going to turn this into a Rangers-West Ham thing.

"Moysey, after the game, he sounded emotional.

"And so he should be. Just the whole thing, the last few days, Yarmolenko scoring the winner. You couldn't write it, could you?"
