Ally McCoist in mischievous Rangers confession as he reveals personal bonus of last minute Ibrox madness
Cheeky Ally McCoist admits he celebrated a double joy as he toasted Rangers' last action heroes before noising up his sons who missed the madness.
Philippe Clement was staring directly at a first defeat as Ibrox boss before a manic finale saw James Tavernier score a penalty in the 90th minute penalty before he turned creator for Danilo to head home in added time. Punters in Govan were jubilant but McCoist admitted he couldn't help a giggle as his kids trudged home without seeing any of the manic drama in the final exchanges.
Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: "I was going to go the game but I couldn't because I was flying down to London. What cheered me up even more was my boys were there and had to leave with a minute to go at 1-0. You should have seen their faces when they come in the door. They were devastated."
Rangers now sit five points behind rivals Celtic who drew 0-0 at Easter Road on Saturday as Clement aims to get his side moving in an upwards direction with his still battling on all fronts.
But Clement is keen to focus on events at Ibrox. He said: "I'm not busy with that for the moment, I'm busy game by game going full for the three points. Then we will look at the end of the season what the situation is."
