Ally McCoist has Rangers truth bomb ready as Celtic stumble sparks Jeff Stelling taunt over WORST EVER Old Firm

Concerned Ally McCoist has urged Rangers fans not to get carried away with hold top spot in the league - as he conceded both Philippe Clement's men and Celtic look uncomfortable at the Premiership summit.

After the Light Blues fell to defeat against Motherwell on Saturday, Celtic were handed the chance to move top of the pile when they made the trip to Tynecastle. However, Hearts had other ideas as Brendan Rodgers' men fell to a 2-0 defeat and Rangers remain two points behind their rivals with the race for the Scottish title nearing the end game.

And speaking on the talkSPORT Breakfast Show, host Jeff Stelling was left baffled that both Glasgow giants had fallen to defeat on the same weekend - and put Ibrox hero McCoist under scrutiny over the battle north of the border. Former Sky Sports presenter Stelling kicked off: "Both beaten on the same weekend Coisty..." McCoist said: "Oh, I had it written down but it's the first time that has happened in years."

Stelling went on: "February 2018." McCoist responded: "There you are, thank you very much. Before we (Rangers) get carried away I was at Ibrox on Saturday and we were not good on Saturday.

"And in Celtic's game against Hearts there did seem to be a lot of controversy, with penalties, handball and sendings offs. But no, I'll tell you the truth on the evidence of the weekend neither of the two of them look like they are going to be comfortable at the top. I thought they were poor."

Stelling then questioned the quality of the two giants. He quizzed "It does beg the question that Celtic and Rangers compared to other years, are these the worst Old Firm teams?"
