All the Met Office snow and weather warnings in place this week as Arctic blast to bring freezing temperatures

Large parts of the UK are set to see snow this week as temperatures drop. An Arctic blast is forecast to bring wintry showers with snow already falling in parts of Scotland on Monday morning.

As a result, the Met Office has issued a number of weather warnings for the week ahead - warning of potentially disruptive” snow and ice.

On Monday there are three warnings in place across the UK. A yellow alert for snow and ice covering the whole of Northern Ireland is in place from 3am on Monday to 11am on Tuesday.

Another snow and ice yellow warning, which is in place from midnight on Monday to 11.59pm tonight, covers the Grampian, Highlands and Eilean Siar and Orkney and Shetland regions of Scotland. There is also another warning of snow and ice covering Norfolk and Suffolk from 7am to 11.59pm on Monday.

On Tuesday a yellow warning of snow and ice covers the whole of Scotland, North East England, North West England, the East Midlands, the West Midlands and Yorkshire and Humber. This is in place from midnight until 11.59pm.

On Wednesday a yellow warning of snow is in place in northern Scotland and other parts of the UK. The regions affected are East Midlands, Grampian, Highlands and Eilean Siar, North West England, Northern Ireland, Orkney and Shetland, Lothian Borders, Strathclyde, West Midlands, Yorkshire and Humber and Wales. This warning is in place from just after midnight on Wednesday to 11.59pm on Thursday.

As well as the weather alerts, a cold health amber cold health warning is also in place for the whole of England from now until midday on Friday. The alert, which is issued by the Met Office and UK Health Security Agency, means cold weather
