All the Greater Manchester parks awarded Green Flags in 2023 ahead of summer holidays

Dozens of parks across Greater Manchester have received Green Flag Awards in this year’s scheme. A record number of parks - 2,216 - were awarded with the accolade throughout the country, the largest number since the awards launched 27 years ago.

Manchester’s Heaton Park, Rochdale’s Denehurst Park and Salford’s Peel Park are among those to feature on the prestigious list. The Green Flag Award is an international quality mark for parks and green spaces, and is given to green spaces which meet the award’s high standards.

Heaton Park also received the Green Heritage Site Accreditation, which is supported by Historic England. It’s given to sites which take action to conserve the heritage value of their site.
