Alison Hammond addresses 'uncomfortable' comment over This Morning outfit as fan say 'never apologise'

Alison Hammond has addressed a comment from a viewer who said they had been left 'uncomfortable' over what she was wearing during a recent episode of ITV's This Morning.

Fans rushed to defend the star after she was criticised for wearing a gold watch that 'looked like a Rolex' during Monday's show.

Alison took to X, formerly Twitter, to explain her outfit after a viewer sent her a message suggesting her jewellery choice was out of touch. The message read: "#ThisMorning I love watching @AlisonHammond but with the cost of living affecting us all, I find it uncomfortable seeing her wearing, what looks like a Rolex."

Sharing the message alongside her response Alison explained that the accessory was in fact a gift from her late mother, and was a Michael Kors watch, not a Rolex. The presenter wrote: "I wish !! It’s actually a Micheal Kors Watch my late mum bought me and it cost her £185 of her hard earned money . It means more to me than any Rolex . Sorry you felt uncomfortable."

Fans told Alison she had no need to apologise, branding the initial complaint 'ridiculous'. One told her: "Ignore this Alison. You do not need to justify yourself. People will always make assumptions." Another said: "Check and Mate. Well done Alison on a very measured response to a ridiculous tweet."

A third said: "You do not need to apologies Alison. Well done for your calm response to this ridiculous tweet," while a fourth commented: "No need to explain yourself Alison. You've worked hard to get where you are & you're entitled to wear whatever you
