Pep Guardiola includes Man City youngster in training squad for Champions League fixture

Micah Hamilton trained with Manchester City ahead of their Champions League game with Young Boys.

The promising 19-year-old forward was named in Pep Guardiola's travelling squad for the match in Bern on Wednesday evening and trained with the first team on Tuesday as they got their first taste of an artificial pitch that they are not looking forward to playing on. Having come back from a long-term injury that wiped out the majority of last season, Hamilton caught the eye of coaches enough to make the bench for the Carabao Cup game at Newcastle last month and could be in for his second inclusion in Switzerland.

John Stones and Jack Grealish were also among the group training and Guardiola referenced the return of both England stars as City look to build some momentum in the Premier League. Winning their double header against Young Boys will allow them to give full focus to domestic competitions for the winter months and rest players in their remaining group games if they are able to get the job done early.

They will hope that the playing surface does not cause any problems on Wednesday ahead of the Manchester derby on Sunday.
