Alfredo Morelos slaughtered as Rangers hero has fitness slammed by Brazil legend in 'look at the shape of him' rant

Former Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has been rinsed by former Brazilian international Neto for his physical condition after his latest Santos appearance.

The Colombian has endured a tough time since making his move to the South American side as a free agent having pulled the curtain down on his time in the Scottish Premiership last summer. After leaving Rangers as a free agent he would be a part of the Santos side that were relegated - but the fallen Brazilian giants have shown their faith in the injury-hampered star by turning down an offer from Turkey with Samsunspor looking to seal a loan move before their transfer deadline.

He came on for the last 27 minutes of Santos' 1-0 midweek win over Corinthians but failed to break his scoring duck for Pele's old club. And pundit Neto - who was capped 16 times by his country and played for both Santos and Corinthians in his career - was decidedly unimpressed with the former Ibrox hero. He said: "Look at the shape of him.

"He's not a player. He doesn't play football. That's not his profession. Look at him. Santos have paid him almost 1 million real [£143,000] in wages this season so far for a player like that? You have to be joking."

Morelos signed a new deal for Santos last week after agreeing to slash his wages and accept a goal bonus to make up the shortfall. However, that has yet to be activated.
