Alfredo Morelos Rangers 'happiness' challenge as Gio van Bronckhorst faces struggle to crack striker code

Rangers boss Gio van Bronckhorst has failed to come up with a long-term solution for keeping Alfredo Morelos happy at Ibrox, claims Kenny Miller.

The Colombian has been in and out of the Rangers starting line-up this season after a false start to the Scottish Premiership campaign amid concerns over his fitness and attitude, and has only netted twice so far this season. Despite his sluggish start to the campaign, Van Bronckhorst opted to start Morelos ahead of in-form Antonio Colak for the Champions League blockbuster with Liverpool.

Summer recruit Colak has netted 11 goals since his arrival from PAOK and despite netting a double against Hearts before the trip to Anfield had to settle for a place on the bench. Former Rangers hero Miller reckons neither man will be happy at watching from the sidelines and Van Bronckhorst faces a tough task to keep the duo focussed this term.

Miller told The Go Radio Football Show: "Going into the first game against Liverpool, I felt it was the right call. I am not saying that Alfredo did anything wrong, but it's a big call to leave Colak out.

"He just seems to have a knack at the moment of finding himself in the right position. He's in some incredible form domestically. If Colak plays on Saturday, Alfredo will play on Wednesday. I don't think it's for the recovery, I just think Giovanni has a big job to keep these two guys relatively happy.

"Colak will want to play in the Champions League, that is why he has come to the club. He is scoring goals at an incredible rate at the moment, and is going to be in a good place. Alfredo is getting back to fitness but has to understand he has competition for his jersey. At the moment they seem ok with how they were playing, but I don't think
