Alex Greive set for Dundee United loan transfer as Jim Goodwin raids St Mirren for striker reinforcement

Dundee United are set to sign Alex Greive on loan from St Mirren.

The Championship promotion pushers are closing in on a deal to sign the New Zealand international for the second half of the season. The striker will look to add to United’s firepower as they look to get promoted back to the Premiership at the first time of asking. Greive will provide another attacking option alongside Louis Moult and Tony Watt, Saints boss Stephen Robinson has reluctantly let Greive move to Tannadice until the summer.

It will also allow him to free up budget with the board again ready to back his push for another top six return and possible European assault. Robinson is actively working on other attacking options and is also looking to strengthen other areas of his squad. Greive has an impressive scoring record at St Mirren with limited starting time He moved to the Buddies from Birkenhead United in 2021.
