Alejandro Garnacho’s three-word message to Manchester United teammate over award win

Alejandro Garnacho has given his nod of approval to the Premier League’s decision to name Harry Maguire as its Player of the Month for November.

Maguire has been in good form over the past few months, keeping Raphael Varane out of the side with a number of solid displays. He has started the last 11 games, helping United to seven wins in that time, having started the season as back-up.

The award comes as a poignant moment for the 30-year-old, who had the captaincy stripped off of him over the summer. He was linked with a move away with West Ham submitting a failed £20m bid during the last window.

Maguire has arguably been United’s most consistent defender this campaign and Manager of the Month Erik ten Hag says he has earned his right to be back in the side.

Taking to social media after receiving his award, Maguire wrote: “Couldn’t have done it without my teammates, the staff and you fans. Your love and support doesn’t go unnoticed, I appreciate it.”

Reacting to his achievement on Instagram, Garnacho sent a message of congratulations, he wrote: “You deserved [it] bro.” Garnacho himself unsurprisingly won the award for Goal of the Month for his stunning bicycle kick against Everton, making it a hat-trick of awards for United.

Other Reds teammates also hailed Maguire for his accolade, Luke Shaw commenting on Instagram: “Well deserved bro,” while Scott McTominay added: “Mentality is different level, well deserved brother."
