Aldi says it will create 5,500 new jobs in 2024 with new stores to open
Aldi says it will create 5,500 new jobs this year as it looks to continue its UK expansion. The budget retailer currently has more than 1,000 stores in the UK and employs more than 45,000 people.
In 2024, Aldi expects to advertise further roles for Store Assistants, Managers and Cleaners as it opens up new stores. The supermarket said new jobs will also be available across its 11 regional distribution centres and within the retailer's head office.

The majority of Aldi store and warehouse workers receive a starting wage of £12 an hour, rising to £12.95, but workers in London get a higher wage of £13.55, rising to £13.85. Aldi says it is also the only supermarket to offer paid breaks, which for can be worth more than an additional £900 a year.

Aldi recently committed to opening another 500 stores across Britain. The retailer said it is investing more than £1.4 billion throughout 2023 and 2024 to reach its long-term target. Plans include expanding its distribution and store network as well as further improving existing stores.
