Albion Rrahmani to Rangers transfer probe sees boiling Bucharest chief explode over exit theory

Rapid Bucharest owner Dan Sucu has attempted to quell swirls over Albion Rrahmani joining Rangers this summer.

Speculation over the future of the forward has rapidly been gathering pace following Ibrox director of football recruitment Nils Koppen reportedly holding talks with representatives of the Kosovo international at a Cancun transfer summit earlier this month. Rrahmani did little to cool chat over the prospect of a move to the Scottish Premiership - with eagle-eyed fans spotting the 23-year-old had started to follow a Glasgow cafe while his agent followed Philippe Clement's side on Instagram.

But while many expect Rrahmani to leave Rapid this summer after a successful campaign which has seen the Kosovo international net 17 goals, Sucu was in no mood to discuss the future of his star man during a press conference in Romania. Pressed on if Rrahmani will leave for Rangers following social media swirls and his activity online, Sucu was less than impressed.

The irked owner replied: "Are there concrete offers for Albion Rrahmani? Any chance he'll leave? Have you priced it? I would like to do it differently, if possible. Let's bet where all that information will be found, if it will be confirmed and if it will be relevant, directly from the Rapid website! And you will find that out there and not from other sources."

Pressed again on if Rrhamani would remain to work at the club under new boss Neil Lennon next season, Sucu appeared to concede that an exit may be on the cards - with Sparta Prague also said to be in the running. He responded: "We live in a competitive climate, that is true.
