Albion Rrahmani gives Rangers his final transfer answer after Neil Lennon summit as Celtic hero told exit rules

In-demand Albion Rrahmani insists he will only ask to leave Rapid Bucharest for a top five European league following talks with new boss Neil Lennon.

The 23-year-old appears to have scuppered any talk of a move to Rangers with the Light Blues keeping tabs on the attacker following a successful campaign which has saw the Kosovo international net 17 goals. A move to the Scottish Premiership appeared to be taking a step forward when Rangers director of football recruitment Nils Koppen reportedly held talks with the player's agency at TransferRoom's Mexico convention summit earlier this month.

However, former Celtic boss Lennon insisted on his arrival as boss in Bucharest that he was keen to keep the star man at the club for the new Super Liga campaign - which starts this weekend against UTA Arad. And it looks like Lennon will get his wish.

Speaking to the press in Romania before the first game of the campaign, Rrahmani said his only temptation would come from the English Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga, Ligue 1 or Serie A: "I am here, focused 100 per cent and I will fight for this team until the end. I will fight for the fans, for them to support us unconditionally.

"The new players are very good and we have a strong team now. Mr. Lennon is a very good coach, with a very good game philosophy, which will help us to be better and better.

"I hope to reach the top five leagues in Europe. If a team offers something interesting for the club, I will talk to Mr (Dan). Sucu (Rapid Bucharest owner), and if the offer is also in the interest of the club, I will make a choice. For now I am the Rapid player and I will give 100 per cent for the team."
