EPL rivals 'adore' Ben Doak as Liverpool ammo up after transfer interest skyrockets in former Celtic prodigy
Liverpool are going to face a big decision on the future of talented teenager Ben Doak this summer.
Leicester are one of several clubs interested in signing the Scotland forward either on loan or permanently and could test the Reds with a bid. Doak, 18, is eager for more first-team football after overcoming a serious knee injury last season which needed surgery.
That did not stop Scotland calling him up for Euro 2024 only for another injury to rule him out of the tournament. But Doak will now see himself as a senior player after the international call-up. The former Celtic kid plans to sit down with manager Arne Slot after the club’s pre-season tour in the US to see what his options are and decide if he will go out on loan or not. Liverpool seriously rate Doak but there are so many top players in his path to the first team including the likes of Mo Salah, Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota.
The Reds now must decide if they will allow Doak to leave permanently or on loan this summer. Any deal would include a hefty sell-on clause or potentially a buy-back deal but there is a lot of interest and a loan looks the most likely move for the youngster.
