Air ambulance lands in city centre after person falls from car park - latest
An air ambulance landed in Manchester city centre this afternoon after a person fell from the Arndale car park.
In a statement on social media Greater Manchester Police said: "We are currently responding to a concern for welfare incident outside the Arndale shopping centre.
"There is no wider risk to the public and officers and colleagues from other emergency services are on the scene. Please avoid the area as this work is carried out."

The Manchester Evening News understands that a male is believed to have fallen from the building. The extent of his injuries is not yet clear.
GMP said and updated on the person's condition would be issued later this afternoon. The air ambulance appeared to land behind the Chetham's School of Music.
The incident has caused disruption to tram services in the city centre.

The road remains closed in both directions with tram services also diverted.
Officers were called to a 'concern for welfare incident' in the city centre this afternoon.
It's understood a male fell from a car park building outside the Arndale shopping centre, sparking a huge emergency services presence.
