MediaCity incident: Huge emergency service presence after 'person falls from building'

A cordon is currently in place at Salford Quays with a large number of emergency services at the scene.

A section of a street called Blue, which runs through MediaCityUK, has been taped off.

Police vans are vehicle blocking access, whilst screening has also been erected inside an inner cordon.

A witness said there are at least ten police cars and ambulances at the scene.

The Manchester Evening News understands someone has fallen from a building in the area.

An eyewitness says the screens have now been removed and that a blue police tent is currently in place next to the multi-storey car park which is on the street, simply called Blue.

We have been told those living at a neighbouring high-rise were told to exit the building 'in a particular direction' in order to avoid an 'earlier incident.'

The nature of the incident has not yet been confirmed, we are awaiting further information from the emergency services
