Agent drops hint on Manchester United star Antony's availability for FA Cup final vs Man City

Antony's agent - Junior Pedroso - has hinted that the Manchester United winger will miss this afternoon's FA Cup final against Manchester City at Wembley.

The Brazilian, who joined United from Ajax last summer, suffered an ankle injury during the Reds' 4-1 win over Chelsea at Old Trafford just over a week ago and was carried off on a stretcher. In the immediate aftermath of that victory, United boss Erik ten Hag confirmed it was a serious injury and that the winger was in a race against time to be fit for the clash with City.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference earlier this week, however, Ten Hag issued a more upbeat update on the right-sided winger, though he admitted that he was unlikely to be fit for the showdown underneath the iconic arch.

Ten Hag said: "Unlikely. Antony still [has] a chance but a really small chance. He didn't make progress, so he still has a chance but unlikely he is available."

The winger's agent has since taken to Instagram to upload an image of the pair of them and his accompanying caption made no reference to the clash with City, such as a good luck message, for example. Instead, it was all about reflecting on his maiden season at Old Trafford and looking ahead to next term.

"So happy to see you so well adapted in England," Pedroso posted on his Instagram page. "Bring on next season and with it new challenges, because you are prepared and with God in front of your purposes!!

"Thank you for the hospitality, as always, my brother!!!"

Antony replied: "Always good with you, brother. Let's go in search of more."
