After insults were traded over a £60 debt they carried out their cowardly plot to execute teen

On the late afternoon of November 12, 2020, teenager Nyle Corrigan left his home on his Sur-Ron electric bike, never to return. As the winter evening began to set in, the 19-year-old parted ways with his friend Harry Morris and continued his journey.

Just before 6.30pm, Mr Corrigan rode down towards an alleyway he frequently used as a shortcut. Unknown to him, two men were lying in wait at the edge of a field next to the road.

The men, who had arrived on foot across a nearby field, were clad in gloves, masks, and hoods to conceal their identities. One was armed with a 9mm Glock semi-automatic handgun.

As Mr Corrigan approached the alleyway, the men called out to him. Before he could react, he was shot in the back. He would die in agony on the side of the road around 50 minutes later.

For four years, Mr Corrigan's family, including his mother Lesley Kelly and siblings Amelia and Rory Corrigan, have been left without answers. However, over the past six weeks, four men - Jamie Coggins, 28, Martin Wilson, 37, Connor Smith, 26, and Anthony Llewellyn, 25 - have stood trial accused of his murder, reports the Liverpool Echo.

They were joined in the dock by Smith's parents Melanie Smith, 47, and Mark Sharpe, 49, who were accused of assisting an offender.

This week, Wilson and Smith were found guilty of murder and conspiracy to possess a 9mm Glock self-loading pistol with intent to endanger life. Coggins was acquitted of murder but convicted of assisting an offender.
