AC Milan's new kit could be banned by Serie A

AC Milan’s new third kit could be banned by Serie A after a new rule was put in place.

Last summer, Serie A put a ban on green kits.

They suggested that, for the purposes of television coverage, green kits were forbidden from the 2022/23 season.

It was reported green strips often clash with the grass, causing confusion for viewers.

“From the 2022-2023 season it is forbidden to use green game uniforms for outfield players,” the rules state.

Home kits are exempt from this rule meaning that Sassuolo, who traditionally wear green and black home kits, wouldn’t be affected. Goalkeeper kits were also allowed to be green.

So this rule applies to just away and third outfield kits.

Serie A announced this rule in the summer of 2021 giving teams plenty of time to design new non-green away and third kits for the 2022/23 campaign.

But it seems AC Milan didn’t get the memo.

That’s because, according to the reliable Footy Headlines, they’re set to bring out a green third kit.

Made by Puma, the kit is a ‘Dark Green Moss’ colour and ‘Spring Moss’ for the club crest and logo.

There’s very little doubt that Milan’s third kit falls into the ‘green’ category.
