A57 Hyde Road in Gorton closed in both directions - latest updates

The A57 Hyde Road in Gorton, Greater Manchester, has been closed in both directions following a road traffic collision in the early hours. The road is closed due to an accident from Chapman Street to Tan Yard Brow.

The incident occurred around 5am today and it is not known when the road will be reopened to traffic. Police tweeted that the closure is to remain in place whilst vehicle recovery is taking place.

Motorists are advised to use an alternative route. It is not known at this time whether anyone received any injuries in the accident.

National roads information service Inrix reported at 5.09am: "A57 Hyde Road in both directions closed due to accident from Chapman Street to Tan Yard Brow."
