BREAKING: All traffic stopped on M60 near Trafford Centre after 'serious' collision - latest updates
All traffic has been brought to a standstill on the motorway close to the Trafford Centre following a 'serious' collision. The incident happened on the M60 clockwise between between Junction 10 (Trafford Centre) and J11 (Eccles) at around 4.30pm.
Police have confirmed the collision was 'serious' and added that it involved a male, with enquiries ongoing at the scene. The nature of the injuries are not yet known but the North West Ambulance Service have been approached for information.
In an update on Tuesday evening, at 5pm, Highways North West announced all traffic travelling on the clockwise carriageway had been stopped following the smash. Paramedics and other emergency services are on the scene.
There are three miles of queues during an already busy rush hour, with drivers told to avoid the area or expect a minimum of 30 minutes extra travel time. Greater Manchester Police and the North West Ambulance service have been approached for more information.
