It's been a relatively quiet transfer window for Rangers - so far, at least.

James Sands has pitched up from New York City while Hearts' John Souttar has agreed a pre-contract deal and it remains to be seen whether he will head for Ibrox this month.

Still in the early stages of his reign, Giovanni van Bronckhorst will have long-term options on his mind as well as immediate solutions that could be pursued ahead of the January 31 deadline.

The lack of a settled option on the right wing suggests it's an area the manager may want to address and various reports have suggested as much - well before a seriously underwhelming attacking display at Pittodrie on Tuesday.

It's a role which has changed since Steven Gerrard departed, gone are the twin numbers 10s in favour of a more traditional flank option, with the likes of Ryan Kent holding a wider position being noted as a key tweak in recent games.

Rangers have brought in a considerable sum from the sale of Nathan Patterson - a deal that could rise to £16million - but it remains to be seen whether Van Bronckhorst will attempt to bolster his right hand side in the coming days or take a longer-term view.
