Fans of Everton were given a glimpse into the future with the first test event at their stunning £800million stadium.

The Toffees' Under-18s fell to a 2-1 defeat to Wigan in front of 10,000 fans on Monday night - the first game played at their new home on Bramley-Moore Dock. The Blues will move into the state-of-the-art ground at the start of next season, bringing 133 years at Goodison Park to an end. The 14,000-seater South Stand was open to lucky supporters successful in a ballot for the first time and the Premier League side will hope the revamped site will take the club up a level with increased revenue from the impressive new arena.

As fate would have it, a Liverpool fan notched the first-ever goal at the new stadium and the youngster couldn't resist the chance to milk his moment in the limelight.
