6 Celtic derby headaches for Brendan Rodgers as transfer confusion rears its head amid awkward Kyogo question

They might be on a short week of build-up but rest assured that it will hit fever-pitch in the 72 hours ahead with Celtic ending the year against Rangers.

There have been few more important Premiership derby clashes between the pair in recent years, with a title race well and truly on. Philippe Clement has got the Ibrox side motoring while there has been simmering unrest at Parkhead, with defeats to Kilmarnock and Hearts seeing grumbles at the board kicking into top gear.

Rodgers hasn't been immune from the critics either and victory for Celtic is crucial, as Rangers making them drop points will ensure they can climb above them if they beat Ross County on Wednesday, and then win their game in hand against Hibs. There is plenty for the Parkhead boss to consider but 2-0 and 3-0 wins over Livingston and Dundee have them in a better place ahead of derby day.

Scratch a little deeper though, and the Irishman knows he has a few conundrums in play. Record Sport looks six headaches that Rodgers may consider ahead of the weekend.

While three goals and three points at Dens Park was sweet for Rodgers, he'll have been left spitting feathers over another injury to influential centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers. The USA international left the game clutching his hamstring and Stephen Welsh came on to partner Liam Scales. His chances of making Saturday are in serious doubt but all it does is again raise questions about summer recruitment. None of Maik Nawrocki, Gustaf Lagerbielke or Nat Phillips were in the squad to face Dundee.

The former two cost a combined £7.3m and the other is on loan from Liverpool, and comes with Premier League experience. None of them can get near a squad right now never mind a game and that isn't including Yuki
