3SC unveil eight new players, Bayelsa United pick 10 new stars

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, which narrowly missed qualification for CAF inter-club competitions by finishing in the fourth position in the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), have fortified their squad ahead of the 2024/25 season, which kicks off on August 31.
 
The club, yesterday, unveiled eight new players, who will add to their weaponry in the battle to win a continental ticket next season. The club have also unveiled their new home and away jerseys to underline their preparation to fight for honours in the coming season in style.
 

Also now in Ibadan are Ojietefian Sylvester (central defender) from Enyimba, Ikouwem Udom, a left back, who joins from Anenir Sportif De la Marsar of Tunisia, Abubakar Aliu (midfielder) from Lobi Stars, Adebayo Abayomi, formerly of Remo Stars, Bolaji Sakin Simeon, who is teaming up with the Oluyole Warriors from Congolese side, AS Otoho and striker, Ayanrinde Samuel, who last featured for Sporting Lagos FC.
 
Speaking while unveiling the players yesterday, 3SC’s Chairman, Babatunde Olaniyan Akoro, said that the club hopes to improve on the performance of last season, hence the recruitment of quality legs to complement the efforts of the retained players.

He said that the team retained most of the best legs from last season’s squad to ensure continuity, explaining that the club retained Coach Gbenga Ogunbote for that purpose.
 
He revealed that the club would bring in a few more players to ensure a successful 2024/25 campaign.

Earlier, Ogunbote explained that the new players were brought in to specifically solve the problems encountered in some departments last season.
