Man United in new striker transfer claim as Marcus Rashford believes legends are 'bullying him'

Manchester United face a must-win fixture away at Southampton on Saturday (kick-off: 12:30pm).

Erik ten Hag's side have lost two of their opening three fixtures with last month's 3-0 defeat to Liverpool a bruising experience. United have had the international break to recover but face a busy stretch of fixtures with seven matches in 22 days.

The Reds face newly promoted Saints first with only a convincing win acceptable against a team who have lost all three of their matches so far. United will then face League One side Barnsley before a trip to Crystal Palace and their opening Europa League match against FC Twente.

United will be hoping to come through a hectic schedule with several much-needed wins. Below is a look at some of the latest stories about United...

FootballTransfers have now claimed that United assistant boss Ruud van Nistelrooy has recommended the club sign Vlahovic mid-season. The Serbian has scored two goals so far in 2024/25 having netted 18 across all competitions last term.

MEN Sport's Isaac Seelochan says: Vlahovic would be an upgrade on what United currently have from a goalscoring perspective. This is an elite striker who has played in the Champions League and won numerous trophies.

However, a new striker is not necessarily a priority for United and Vlahovic is also likely to be costly.
