£36m star 'content to stay' at Wolves on one condition

Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves would be happy to stay at the club if they get into the European places this season, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Neves’ future has been the subject of speculation in recent months after he was linked with a move to Arsenal and Manchester United last summer.

The 26-cap international is into his fifth season at Molineux, and he still has over two years remaining on his current contract.

Therefore, it seems that there is no immediate pressure on Wolves to sell the 24-year-old at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Neves has previously stated that he remains fully focused on continuing to improve at Wolves, indicating that he is not fazed by reports claiming that other clubs are monitoring him.

Wolves beat Tottenham 2-0 on Sunday to move into the top seven in the Premier League. If they remain in this place for the rest of the campaign, they will seal their spot in Europe for next season, and Jones thinks this could be enough to keep Neves at the club.

When questioned about how the £36m-rated midfielder would view his future if Wolves qualify for Europe, Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “I don’t think he would look to move. If Wolves have European football next season, I think he would be content to stay where he is.”
