110-cap superstar 'would consider' Newcastle move
Transfer insider Dean Jones can understand why Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller may be tempted by a move to Newcastle in the summer.
The Magpies look set to make a major splash in the transfer market at the end of the season, and Muller could be a player that they look to entice to St James’ Park.
Towards the end of the January transfer window, Newcastle were linked with a shock move for Muller. With Bayern top of the Bundesliga and still in the Champions League, it always seemed unlikely that the 110-cap international would be interested in a move to a relegation-threatened team at this stage, though, and he stayed in Germany.
However, Newcastle have since put together a string of wins to move out of the bottom three, and they now look well-placed to avoid the drop. This could leave them in a better position to target Muller in the off-season.
Meanwhile, Muller only has a little over a year left on his contract at Bayern, suggesting that a decision on his future will need to be made soon.

Muller has never played outside of his homeland, but Jones thinks he may be willing to change this, and has hinted that the 32-year-old could be intrigued by the prospect of moving to a highly ambitious club like Newcastle.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jones said: “Thomas Muller has been at Bayern his entire career, but, if he was to think about a new project, I could see why he would consider it.”
It still seems like a long shot for the North-East club.
Muller is now into his thirties, and some players of his age might be looking for one last payday, making a move to Newcastle an attractive proposition.
He has shown no signs of slowing down this season, though,
