3 things we clearly learnt about Sheffield United after their 1-0 win v QPR
Sheffield United took another step closer toward a top six finish by beating fellow play-off hopefuls QPR 1-0 at Bramall Lane last night.
Ollie Norwood’s goal was the difference between the two sides but the Blades created plenty of chances and may feel they should’ve put the game to bed properly.
In the end, though, they secured an important three points that leaves them fifth in the Championship table ahead of the weekend’s fixtures.

Their work on set pieces paid off
Norwood’s goal was a well-worked set piece move and highlighted an area of real improvement from the defeat to Stoke City on the weekend.
The Blades attacking corners were particularly poor against the Potters – not creating a single chance from five attempts – while they struggled at times to properly clear their lines when defending them.
They were much improved in both areas against the R’s, which Paul Heckingbottom revealed after the game was down to hard work done behind the scenes.
It’s a promising sign moving forward, particularly with the play-offs ahead when every advantage you can get over your opponent will be vital.
Filip Uremović looks a solid signing
Given his experience in the game, landing Filip Uremović as a free agent always looked like a smart bit of business but his performance last night was hard evidence of that.
The 25-year-old did not look out of place on his Blades debut, which was also his first game in English football.
