3 Spain vs Scotland referee calls slaughtered as under fire Serdar Gozubuyuk branded 'out his depth'

Serdar Gozubuyuk was “out of his depth” in Seville as former Scots top flight referee Des Roache lambasted the Dutchman and UEFA over the controversial decision to disallow Scott McTominay’s goal.

The Dutch whistler was a thorn in Scotland’s side with a string of big decisions going against Steve Clarke’s team – including the ruling out of the Manchester United star’s brilliant free kick. Look, Spain were the dominant team and deserved their win. They had so much possession and attacking play it was hard for Scotland to keep them at bay so the better team won.

“But we lost a goal on an offside only VAR could’ve picked
