2022 World Cup: Ghana's potential XI is loaded with quality

Ghana are one of five African nations who will represent the continent at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The Black Stars will join current AFCON holders Senegal, Cameroon, Tunisia and Morocco at the showpiece event in Qatar later this year.

It’s the fourth time Ghana have qualified for the World Cup. They made their tournament debut back in 2006 and famously reached the quarter-final stage in 2010.

Ghana booked their place at the first World Cup to be staged in the Middle East by beating Nigeria on away goals in a two-legged play-off.

Thomas Partey’s 10th minute goal at the Abuja National Stadium proved to be the deciding factor in the end.

As a result of the Arsenal star’s strike on March 29th, Ghana have been drawn into Group H at the 2022 World Cup, where they will take on Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.

On paper, it’s an incredibly tough group, one that is virtually impossible to predict given the quality all the teams possess.

But Ghana have all the tools necessary to qualify for the knockout stage.

After adding Athletic Bilbao striker Inaki Williams and Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey to an already talented squad, the Black Stars’ potential World Cup XI has ‘dark horses’ written all over it.
