2 transfer developments we could see emerge at Huddersfield Town as the summer window looms

Huddersfield Town have all to play for in the coming months. 

Carlos Corberan has Town positioned in the Championship’s play-offs, whilst there’s an FA Cup clash with Nottingham Forest on the horizon and a place in the quarter-finals on the line.

Simply thinking further ahead than the next fixture is not something those within the four walls at Huddersfield will consider.

However, with the year already rolling into March, there’s a thought already drifting onto the next transfer window.

That’s only natural, which leads to us identifying a couple of developments that might emerge:

More business with Chelsea 

The agreement that has seen Levi Colwill arrive at Huddersfield on loan from Chelsea has been a resounding success.

Colwill, 19, has been superb in the Championship this season and it’s quite remarkable that before a ball was kicked in 2021/22, he’d never been involved in senior football.

Huddersfield have done a fine job developing one of English football’s top emerging centre-backs, which opens up more doors for future agreements with Chelsea.

Tino Anjorin has arrived in January, but is yet to feature due to injury. Nevertheless, it’s a show that Chelsea are willing to trust Huddersfield with further young talent.

Even Colwill or Anjorin may return for 2022/23, although you do feel that, when it comes to the former, it might only be possible if Huddersfield are a Premier League side.

A decision for Lewis O’Brien 

Admittedly, Huddersfield will eliminate this if they win promotion to the Premier League, but there could well be a decision for Lewis O’Brien to make in the summer.
