But it feels true, doesn’t it, when it’s your own team? The American comedian Stephen Colbert would refer to this as truthiness – ‘the idea of passion and emotion and certainty over information’. And all the information we have gathered on Huddersfield Town, lovingly enshrined in spreadsheets and newsprint over the course of the past eight months, suggests they are in fact a very good football team. The 23rd-best in the country, to be precise.
