2 QPR selection dilemmas Mark Warburton is facing ahead of his side’s clash with Peterborough

Queens Park Rangers will be looking to deliver a positive response to their recent defeat to Nottingham Forest when they host Peterborough United at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium this afternoon.

Despite taking the lead against the Reds last Wednesday, the R’s couldn’t prevent Steve Cooper’s side from sealing three points in this fixture as Djed Spence, Ryan Yates and Brennan Johnson scored in the second-half.

Currently seventh in the Championship, QPR will move above Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield United in the league standings if they beat Peterborough.

Having witnessed the club’s performance against Forest, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if R’s boss Mark Warburton opts to make some changes to his team in today’s fixture.

Whereas Warburton did suggest on Friday that the injury suffered by Chris Willock is not thought to be as bad as first feared, the attacking midfielder will miss today’s meeting with Posh.

When you consider that Willock has provided 18 direct goal contributions in the Championship this season, he will be a big miss and thus QPR will need another player to step up to the mark in his absence.

If Warburton is looking to utilise a two-striker system against Peterborough, Charlie Austin may be given the nod to start as he is more suited to this particular role than Ilias Chair.

However, a tweak in formation could potentially allow Chair to showcase his talent.
