£150m double deal, Branthwaite deal, Casemiro sold - Man United's alternative summer transfer window

Manchester United's summer has been more positive than many would have considered to be possible prior to the FA Cup final.

Erik ten Hag finds himself in a new position of power at the club having received the backing of Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Meanwhile, fans have been encouraged by the sensible appointments in the boardroom including Dan Ashworth, Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox.

Two promising signings have also been completed with Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee moving to Old Trafford. Donny van de Beek has been sold while some wage space has been saved thanks to Raphael Varane's departure at the back end of last season.

Not everything is incredibly rosy though. United are still lacking in certain areas and there has not been the dramatic shift in the first-team squad many had expected from Ineos.

With this in mind, MEN Sport has taken a look at how United's summer transfer window could have looked in an alternative world.

United have been marginally hamstrung in the summer window due to Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules preventing them from making big purchases until money is recouped. Had those sales been completed, Ten Hag would have surely been tempted to go for a double swoop.
