Celebrating International Women’s Day: WTCR Q&A with Elsa Verbist
With International Women’s Day in full swing, the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup is highlighting new Comtoyou Team Audi Sport Team Manager Elsa Verbist. The 30-year-old from Belgium has worked in motorsport since 2015, initially as Team Coordinator for SRO Motorsport, mainly in the GT World Challenge, before she was appointed Team Manager of Attempto Racing.

The FIM Endurance World Championship is joining the FIM and FIA, the governing bodies two- and four-wheel motorsport, in celebrating International Women’s Day and a gender-equal world through a joint campaign presenting women who have been able to break the bias in both forms of the sport. Both federations have been committed to this cause for years and have worked hard to promote diversity and inclusion, inspiring, 9encouraging and helping women to take their place, both on track and off track. FIM and FIA will carry out other actions together during the year to further demonstrate that women have their place in motorsport and create opportunities for them in all activities.

Enea Bastianini Dedicates First-Ever MotoGP Win To Fausto Gresini
Following a long bout with COVID-19, two-time 125cc Grand Prix champion Fausto Gresini died in February, 2021. While both MotoGP and Formula 1 held moments of silence for the influential racer and team boss, Gresini Racing stayed on with the Aprilia Factory team during the 2021 MotoGP season. Prior to Fausto Gresini’s untimely death, he planned to reestablish Gresini Racing as an independent MotoGP in 2022.
