ADSS 97 takes up the British mantle in EWC for 2022

ADSS 97 will take on the sole British-based entry to the FIM Endurance World Championship for 2022.

The long distance race enthusiast is returning to the 2022 EWC with a four-rider team and experienced pit crew for the coming season with talent recruited from the highly experienced British Endurance Racing Team.

Chris Platt, James Edwards and Johnny Blackshaw return to the team for three 24-hours events, with former BERT rider and endurance specialist Jon Railton completing the quartet. ADSS 97 will compete in the EWC Superstock class aboard the Kawasaki ZX-10RR at Le Mans, Spa and Bol d’Or.

Previous ADSS 97 rider, Craig Watson, becomes team manager, while the pit crew will be headed up by Road and Racing’s Alan Cook and renowned endurance technician Allan ‘Alf’ Hubbard, who has prepared championship-winning machines for Endurance 1000, the Classic TT and the Manx GP.

Despite a difficult COVID hit 2021 season, the ADSS 97 team finished the legendary Bol d’Or 24hr 11th overall, placing sixth in the Superstock class and fourth in the Dunlop Independent Trophy.

The new line up aims to better these results across the three, Europe-based, 24-hour EWC rounds in 2022 with ADSS 97 now the only British racing team competing in the notoriously challenging series.

The EWC season will commence with the Le Mans 24 Heures Moto at the Bugatti Circuit in France on 16-17th April before travelling to Belgium for the 24H Spa EWC Motos on 4-5th June. The team’s final event sees it’s return to France for the Bol d’Or at Circuit Paul Ricard on 17-18th September. Japan’s Suzuka 8 Hours is on 7 August and by invitation only.
