Team 33 Louit April Moto signs new EWC recruits
Team 33 Louit April will count on a revised rider line-up for the 2022 FIM Endurance World Championship. Although Italy’s Christian Gamarino remains onboard to ride the squad’s Kawasaki, Frenchman Ludovic Rizza and Italian Simone Saltarelli are new external recruits.
Checa eyes rare EWC title treble
David Checa will go for a rare FIM Endurance World Championship title treble when he embarks on his first season with the ERC Endurance Ducati team this year. Spaniard Checa claimed EWC title gold in his first season with Yamaha power in 2004. He then became champion again at the end of his maiden campaign on a Kawasaki in 2019.
EWC rider Reiterberger set for double time in 2022
BMW-powered Markus Reiterberger is set to do double time in 2022 after he added a campaign in the Internationale Deutsche Motorradmeisterschaft to his existing FIM Endurance World Championship bid. German Reiterberger will ride for BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team in the EWC and BCC-Alpha-Van Zon-BMW Team in his national series.
Confidence high for Canepa in EWC
Niccolò Canepa is adamant the bad luck is behind him in the FIM Endurance World Championship and that another title challenge is more than possible in 2022. YART – Yamaha Official Team EWC rider Canepa topped the EWC Riders’ standings at the end of the 2016/17 season but could do no better than sixth in 2021 alongside team-mates Marvin Fritz and Karel Hanika.
