El primero gol de un Italia-Argentina llegaría tan pronto como se pudo: en el minuto 1 de encuentro, Amleto Frignani adelantaba a los italianos con un gol que batía a Amadeo Carrizo, arquero argentino que más tarde sería sustituido al iniciar la segunda parte. El 2-0 definitivo sería obra de Carlo Galli, un resultado con el que concluiría este encuentro amistoso que marcaría el inicio de una rivalidad histórica.
