Mbappe, Haaland but no Ronaldo: The 100 most valuable footballers in the world
The CIES Football Observatory has revealed the 100 most valuable players in world football.
The list is put together once seasons are completed, and ranks players based on their value, with the value being in Euros, rather than in sterling.
The Premier League dominates the rankings, with 41 entrants into the top 50. The most valuable top-flight player is, perhaps unsurprisingly, Erling Haaland, who has recently signed for Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund.
However, there is no room for Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo or PSG’s Lionel Messi, with the pair now being overtaken by a new generation.
The CIES Observatory claims that they use a scientific approach to their rankings, so let’s take a look at the top 100 most valuable players in the world.
