Instead, RR chose to retain Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal for Rs 18 cr each. RR had a brilliant run in the previous edition of the IPL. The 2008 champions have now announced the list of their retained players for the mega auctions of the upcoming season. Under the captaincy of wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson, RR finished at number three on the points table with eight victories in 14 matches in IPL 2024. They lost against Sunrisers Hyderabad by 36 runs in the Qualifier 2 match and bowed out of the tournament.
