Wrexham has announced no structural damage has been discovered in the Macron Stand after torrential rain hit the Racecourse Ground at the weekend.

Guests in the 1864 Suite were enjoying their Father's Day lunch when water began to leak into the executive area after adverse weather conditions hit North Wales.

Originally, the Red Dragons said the reception area of the Macron Stand has been hit with structural damage. However, in a fresh statement on Thursday, the Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney owned club announced their fears had not been confirmed by an investigation.

A post on their website read: "We are pleased to confirm that, following investigation into the large leak in the Macron Stand on Sunday, there is no structural damage to the stand. "In the wake of the torrential rain that impacted the whole region on the day, the underground drains became overwhelmed which led to our downpipes and gutters to overflow.
