The concluding day of action in Budapest sees the 4x400 women's relay team of Kelly McGrory, Sharlene Mawdsley, Roisin Harrison and Sophie Becker take their place in the final.In an eventful heat, the Irish quartet advanced as one of the two fastest non-automatic qualifiers in fourth spot following the disqualification of the USA team for an illegal baton change.A season's best time of 3.26.18 was achieved.Looking ahead to the final, Sophie Becker said: "We'll look to come out and run fast again tomorrow and anything can happen.

The USA are out and who’s to say what can happen in a world final. We’re going to recover and come back to do it again. We love competing together and we’ll give it our all for Ireland." India's Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra scripted history yet again. The star javelin thrower became the first player from the nation to clinch a gold medal in the World Athletics Championships on Sunday. It was a throw of 88.17m in his second attempt in the final in Budapest, Hungary that helped Neeraj bag the honour. Pakistan's reigning Commonwealth Games champion Arshad Nadeem took the silver with his season's best throw of 87.82m, while Jakub Vadlejch (86.67m) of Czech Republic bagged the bronze medal.
