A 52-year-old man has been imprisoned for causing death by dangerous driving following the fatal incident that claimed Nicole Cummings' life.

Alec Keiran, from Daisy Meadow in Bamber Bridge, admitted to the charge at an earlier hearing and received his sentencing today, Thursday 26 September, at Liverpool Crown Court.

The tragic event unfolded on Thursday 10 August last year when emergency crews rushed to Wilbraham Street, close to its intersection with Scotland Road and a nearby Shell station, after receiving collision reports between a HGV and a pedestrian, subsequently identified as 24 year old Nicole Cummings.

She was declared deceased at the scene.
