Wolverhampton Wanderers star Matheus Nunes is a ‘monster’ and his Molineux arrival has ‘gone under the radar’, according to Midlands journalist Josh Holland. Head coach Bruno Lage was allowed to spend more than £120million on bolstering his squad during the summer transfer window and Nunes was among those to come through the door.
Wolves smashed their record transfer fee by forking out an initial £38million, which could rise to £42.2million, to tempt Nunes away from Portuguese giants Sporting.
Chairman Jeff Shi admitted that he was ‘thrilled’ to sign a star who is ‘widely regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in world football’.
Nunes has penned a five-year contract after heading to the Premier League for the first time in his career and he has already become a key component in Wolves’ midfield.
